![]() The two other 4 trackers sound fine to me and I dig them. Overall the quality isn't quite there like tracks on Subversive Recordings during that time. "Drum Machine" bores me and I never play it. "Seven" and "Rukus" come through pretty good. You can really hear it on the track "Mobb Deep". The one with the worst mastering is the "Wishbone ep". The mid one are mostly jump up as that was the popular style at the time.I totally get what you are saying though. I haven't listened to this batch, granted, but I'm not sure any newly pressed 12" is worth that cash. VetoeDJSIKsfI own a good grip of those old Riddim 12"'s and their good, but not great. Haven't heard the first release, or the dubs, and am just speaking towards Riddim 5,6,7,8. Pretty Looks riddim is a recut of the Heptones’ Pretty Looks (Isn’t all). They feel kinda shat out, with poor mastering and execution in front of a cool hip hop/jungle hybrid sampling concept that I WANT to like but just can't muster the enthusiasm to raise my thumbs. With 4 tracks per plate, I think I've regularly mixed like 2 of em. ![]() I don't have the first one that u linked, just 4-5 of the mid-catalogue ones with covers that look like rejected Master P movie soundtrack posters. I just won't be one of the consumers contributing to that "pile" of cash.ĭJSIKsfI own a good grip of those old Riddim 12"'s and their good, but not great. In the end I can't get pissed at him for trying to make a dollar on jungle music. ![]() There were some great tunes on there, but I can't stand mixing 7" discs. The reinforced box set is a perfect example. I think some of these releases are definitely aiming more towards "collectors" now and not DJ's any more hence the prices. I don't see many heads over here in the states laying down that kind of cash, unless money is no object to them. Sadly I think the man is digging himself hole with these prices. It must be great considering how many offers I have gotten for it! This one right here ranks as one of my over all favorites : I haven't listened to this batch, granted, but I'm not sure any newly pressed 12" is worth that cash.Ĭome on now those first Riddim records are amazing!!!!!!!! Tuff More Warriors riddim 2014 13.Jah Turban Pass Me The Ganja dubplate. I own a good grip of those old Riddim 12"'s and their good, but not great.
